Making the most of the Sicilian sun before heading home β˜€οΈ This week I’ve enjoyed using a few of my fave ethical travel essentials including @ouryuhme water bottle, @filblanc.uk beach towel and @amiiyok moisturiser. What brands help you live more sustainably on holiday? Wearing the gorgeous beach dress from ethical fashion brand @shopsololu ✨ Blog post and interview with their founder Rosanne to follow this weekend πŸƒ
This Easter it's estimated that the UK will discard 3000 tonnes of packaging from around 80 million Easter eggs 😱 If you want to reduce your impact this weekend and avoid the unnecessary packaging that comes with most shop-bought Easter eggs, then why not make your own? We had so much fun making these using fairtrade chocolate - find out how on the blog! 🐣 Link in bio πŸƒ
With a long and cold winter that continues to drag, why not brighten up your life with @fruuurskin - these fruity lip balms are organic and vegan, with most of the ingredients produced as a by-product of processed fruit waste! I especially love that they have an avocado flavoured balm but my favourite has to be the mango πŸ₯‘πŸ‰πŸ’πŸ“πŸ‡πŸ
Today is #WorldWaterDay πŸ’¦ By 2050 it's estimated that there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. But it's not enough to worry about it while we carry on living our lives the same way as we did before. Every one of us needs to change because it's up to all of us to make a difference. One of my favourite success stories comes from Mustique where I went last year to visit their pioneering coral nurseries. These restore endangered coral species and form a vital habitat for marine wildlife 🐠 You can read more on the blog! Link in bio πŸƒ
Back in january I had the pleasure of visiting @gillian_june's studio and meeting their lovely founder Imogen. I especially loved learning about all the different ways that Gillian June incorporate sustainability into their design process by using upcycled and vintage materials. Find out more on the blog! Have you ever heard of plantable paper? It's made with recycled scraps of old paper (newspapers, junk mail...) and embedded with seeds so that once you've finished using it you can plant it outside where the paper will compost away and the seeds will grow! For Mother's Day I experimented with two batches: one with wild flower seeds and dried flowers 🌸🌱 another with chilli seeds and rosemary 🌢🌿 If you're curious or want to try this at home (it's surprisingly easy!!) then you can find my "how to" guide on the blog.
