Hidden Plastics: 10 things you didn’t realise are bad for the environment (but actually are) - new blog post up now, prepare to be shocked 😮 Link in bio 🍃
Not sure about you but this quote really makes me stop and think 💭When we throw things away we never reflect on what that means - where does it actually go?! With our landfill at tipping point and a recycling crisis upon us, we simply need to reduce our waste. I‘ve taken many steps to reduce my plastic consumption but where I really fall down is my food shop ... with zero waste stores few and far between I end up shopping in the main grocers where excess packaging is still simply unavoidable. Any tips very much welcome!
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content 💫 I love using the weekend to explore London, going to new places or exhibitions. A little while back I visited @columbiaflowermarket where market traders line up each Sunday to sell every flower imaginable 💐 It’s one of my favourite places and, with as many as 60 independent stores, you really will be supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs👌🏼 How are you spending your Sunday before another busy week ahead?
As you may have seen @marksandspencerfoodpr have just opened a plastic free aisle at their store in Tolworth! Not only have they removed all packaging from their fruit & veg but they’ve also got greengrocers on hand to give advice on keeping food fresh and reducing waste at home! Fingers crossed they roll out the same at my local store ... 🤞🏼 What do you all think? 🍐🍊🍎
Last summer I attended a social impact hackathon with @oneyoungworld and tomorrow I’m attending another ... but this time as a mentor! I’m really excited to see how the day goes, inspiring and helping students to come up with social business solutions for some of today’s greatest challenges relating to the Sustainable Development Goals 🌏
It’s safe to say I’ve had an impromptu break from blogging the last few weeks - as amazing as they have been (highlights include trips to Vienna and Berlin) I haven’t had the time to spend on here but now I’m back with some exciting plans for 2019 including Sustainably Simple’s 2nd birthday 🎂... watch this space 🤗
